Kicking Off Summer Salmon Season with a Bang

Opening day of summer salmon season was one to remember! I had the pleasure of bringing out fellow Tengu Club President Doug Hanada, along with current members Evan Hanada and Guy Mamiya. We kicked things off at Jefferson Head, where we hooked into a solid king that was safely released and managed to keep a nice resident Coho. Spirits were high, and the water was calm. Everything you hope for on day one.

From there, we made our way to Kingston, and that’s when things really lit up. We were met with a flurry of kings, one after another, making for nonstop action and a great time all around. It was an awesome way to start the season with good company, tight lines, and promising signs for the weeks ahead. If the rest of the summer continues like this, we’re in for a feast!
